Elon Musk and the SpaceX team are highly successful in their space endeavors. NASA’s history includes amazing success and “malfunction junction.”
I am certain SpaceX and NASA will continue to be successful. I am confident success and sustainability are part of my future. I am comforted by an awareness that like SpaceX needing to reschedule this test, sometimes we as individuals need to reschedule our tests and plans to move forward with our goals. Sometimes we take a little hop forwards or sideways, like Starhopper, only to discover we need fine tuning before we are completely ready. After the tune up, we will be better and stronger, fit for our goals. Godspeed SpaceX and NASA. Godspeed us.
SpaceX aborted the final launch of its shiny Starhopper rocket ship less than a second before liftoff. Elon Musk says the company will try again Tuesday. | Business Insider

Astronaut of the Day: Marcos Pontes
We just met retired Astronaut Marcos Pontes at the Astronaut of the Day autograph signing session at the Kennedy Space Center gift shop. He had copies of his book, written in Portuguese, and other books in Portuguese for sale and the standard courtesy 8 1/2 × 11 size photo for signing. We also had a photo taken with him. He is a nice man. I will be confirming what I heard. He may be now in government in Brazil. He may be a year or so younger than I am, which would make him the youngest Astronaut we have met.

Astronaut Jerry Carr

Astronaut Jerry Carr is the astronaut of the day today at Kennedy Space Center. He is speaking at the auditorium which is the location for the Astronaut Encounter program. The Astronaut Encounter program is presented at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 pm. The program is included with admission to the Center. Jerry Carr is also speaking at Lunch With an Astronaut which starts at noon. The lunch buffet and speech are in the ballroom under the Heroes and Legends building. The fee for Lunch With an Astronaut is approximately $30. Flight Director Ed and I, Capcom Ruth, have been to Lunch With an Astronaut a few times with various astronauts including Astronaut Carr. We have been to Astronaut Encounter several times going back to when it happened outside instead of inside the auditorium. Jerry will end today’s schedule by signing items on the top floor of the gift shop from 4:00-4:45. That will be our last stop at the Space Center today too.
